Val Gardena/Gröden on TV: 170 Million Viewers

170 million TV viewers from all over the world followed the Downhill and Super-G races in December 2014 on TV.

This is what the agency Infrontsport concluded after analyzing the data, translating to 33 million more viewers than the previous year. Due to inclement-weather-related rescheduled Downhill on Friday, there were 57% more viewers on this weekday than in the 2013-14 season. Approximately 60 TV companies transmitted broadcasts of the races in Val Gardena/Gröden, either live or delayed.

Saturday's Super-G on ORF reached the highest viewer share with almost 54%. 2.13 million viewers watched the Super-G live on German TV channel ARD, reaching 21.7% of the TV audience at this time. 17.2 million saw the ARD report on the Downhill race in Val Gardena/Gröden. The highest number of TV audiences in Italy was reached for the Downhill during the main news report on RAI TG Uno with a rate of 23%. In Norway, 42% of the TV audience followed the Super-G, in Slovenia it was 30%. Eurosport 2 reached audiences in further 45 countries. Russia is leading with a total of 15 hours of total broadcast.

Preparations on the Saslong for the races on December 18th and 19th have begun. July 9th saw the International Ski Federation FIS performing an inspection.
