The Val Gardena/Gröden Race Week attracts ski enthusiasts from various regions, eager to witness the thrilling races at the base of Sassolungo/Langkofel. This year is no exception, with spectators along the course enjoying the presence of notable figures from the realms of sports and politics.

Among the esteemed attendees is Michel Vion, the Secretary General of the International Ski Federation (FIS). A devoted fan of the Saslong Classic, he consistently makes a point to visit the Dolomites during the speed competitions.

Adding to the allure of the event, legendary figures known as "Saslong legends" are spotted in the crowd. Franz Klammer from Austria, Kristian Ghedina from Italy, and recently retired American Steven Nyman have all graced Val Gardena/Gröden. Klammer and Ghedina, each four-time downhill winners at Sassolungo, hold the record in this discipline, while Nyman is a close contender with three downhill victories.

The presence of South Tyrol Governor Arno Kompatscher and Provincial Councillor Daniel Alfreider further enhances the event. Both esteemed politicians, and honorary committee members of Saslong Classic, have been cherished guests at the speed events for years.
