For over 20 years, the Gianni Marzola Prize has been awarded as part of the Val Gardena/Gröden World Cup week. The special prize is given to the youngest participant in the three speed events on the Saslong.

This year, Swiss skier Franjo von Allmen was delighted to receive the Gianni Marzola Prize, endowed with 1,500 euros. The 22-year-old Swiss (born on July 24, 2001) participated in all three races at the foot of the Sassolungo/Langkofel and even earned FIS points for the first time in his career with a ninth-place finish in the super-G and twelfth in the downhill classic. The three-time silver medalist at the 2022 Junior World Championships made his World Cup debut in March of this year at the downhill in Aspen.

Gianni Marzola was a great promoter of skiing in Val Gardena/Gröden during his lifetime. Since 2002, his memory has been honored with a prize named after him.
