Auction of Cortina World Cup final trophies - Raising proceeds for charitable purposes

The organizers of the World Cup final in Cortina want to alleviate the distress caused by the coronavirus. The Cortina 2021 Foundation has decided to host an auction. From 31 March to 9 April, interested parties can bid for the handmade trophies that would have been awarded to the winning athletes in the Cortina races. The proceeds will be donated to the hospital in Belluno, which will use them to purchase ventilators.
The trophies are handmade glass plates, as is tradition in Cortina, and have been made by the renowned glazier Pio Alverà from Ampezzo. Resins and other natural treasures have been incorporated into the trophies. They are personalized, have been provided with the logo of the event and, of course, also show the name of the race and the ranking achieved.
Alessandro Benetton, President of the Cortina 2021 Foundation, journalist Massimiliano Ossini and writer Francesco Vidotto, but also two Cortina ambassadors Sofia Goggia and Kristian Ghedina are behind this initiative.
Bids can be submitted here until 9 April: www.charitystars.com
