Bennett Wins His Second DOLOMITES Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy

As the most successful racer at the 56th Saslong Classic, the American Bryce Bennett has secured the DOLOMITES Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy for the second time since 2021.

With a victory in the sprint downhill on Thursday, 14th place in the super-G on Friday, and third place in the downhill classic on Saturday, Bryce Bennett emerged as the athlete with the most points at this year's Val Gardena/Gröden race week. The US athlete collected 178 points in the three races, putting him 18 points ahead of Norway's defending champion, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, and 22 points ahead of Marco Odermatt in second and third place.

In this particular ranking, Super-G winner Vincent Kriechmayr and reigning Super-G World Champion James Crawford claimed fourth and fifth place. Crawford, in particular, showcased impressive consistency in Val Gardena/Gröden, finishing no worse than sixth in any of the three races.

Just behind Crawford, the winner of the downhill classic, Dominik Paris from Ulten, secured sixth place. His teammates Mattia Casse, Guglielmo Bosca, Christof Innerhofer, and Florian Schieder finished ninth, 16th, 23rd, and 25th, respectively.

Bennett Celebrates Several Additional Prizes

As the winner of the DOLOMITES Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy, Bennett can look forward to a 3D wooden bust true to the original, additional prize money of 5,000 euros, a short vacation stay in Val Gardena/Gröden, and an ascent of the Sassolungo/Langkofel accompanied by a local mountain guide.

The idea of the special prize was developed by the organizing committee of the Saslong Classic in collaboration with DOLOMITES Val Gardena Marketing. The true-to-original 3D wooden bust of the American will be publicly displayed on the "Ski Champions Walk" in Selva/Wolkenstein.
