Downhill training on Wednesday canceled

The second training run for the downhill races on the Saslong has been canceled due to snowfall overnight.
As already announced in the weather forecasts at the beginning of the week, snow began to fall in Val Gardena/Gröden on Wednesday night. This snowfall made it impossible to hold the second downhill training session. "The focus is now 100 percent on preparing the course for the upcoming races. Our aim is to have the track in ideal condition for all three competitions - that's why we have cancelled the training run on Wednesday," said the organizing committee of the 56th Saslong Classic, explaining the decision, which was made in consultation with the race jury.
World Cup points will be at stake for the first time at the foot of the Sassolungo/Langkofel on Thursday: First up on the program is the make-up downhill for the cancelled race in Zermatt-Cervinia, before the traditional super-G takes place on Friday and the legendary downhill classic on Saturday. All three speed events start at 11:45 am.
