The Gianni Marzola Prize has been awarded for over 20 years during the Val Gardena/Gröden World Cup week. This special prize is traditionally awarded to the youngest participant in the speed competitions on the Saslong.

This year, the €2,500 prize went to 20-year-old Felix Rösle from Germany, who made his World Cup debut at the 58th Saslong Classic. The reigning junior downhill world champion was the only athlete born in 2005 to compete in one of the three races at the foot of the Sassolungo/Langkofel.

Incidentally, Rösle did not collect any World Cup points in Val Gardena/Gröden: in Thursday's sprint downhill, the native from Upper Allgäu in southern Germany finished 50th, and he finished 47th in Saturday's classic downhill. In addition to the junior world downhill championship title, two sixth places in the European Cup are among the 20-year-old's career highlights to date.
