Important investments on the Saslong
As a World Cup organizer, the Saslong Classic Club puts great emphasis on professional organization. As far as technical innovation is concerned, the Val Gardena/Gröden Organizing Committee tries to keep up with the times and can rely on an excellent cooperation with its partners.
The Saslong SpA lift company is currently installing new snow cannons on the world-famous ski slope. "These ultra-modern systems from the leading South Tyrolean company DEMACLENKO can produce 30 percent more snow in the same period of time. In addition, most of the A-nets and gliding tarpaulins were replaced," says Horst Demetz, course director at the World Cup in Val Gardena/Gröden.
On the one hand, the best downhill skiers in the world will benefit from these investments, as they will race for important World Cup points on Friday, 20th (super-G) and Saturday, 21st December (downhill). However, the innovations will primarily benefit the thousands of skiers expected to carve over the sunlit track in the heart of the Dolomites in the coming winters.
