Odermatt wins the Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy
The most successful athlete of the 58th Saslong Classic is Marco Odermatt. As the racer with the most points, Odermatt can celebrate winning the Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy for the second time after 2024.
First place in the sprint downhill, second place in the super-G, and second place in the classic downhill: with these three results, Odermatt became the most successful athlete of the Val Gardena/Gröden XXL race week. The Swiss athlete earned a total of 260 World Cup points in the speed triple on the Saslong, clearly relegating the winner of the classic downhill, Franjo von Allmen, to second place. The downhill world champion, who failed to finish in the super-G and remained without points, scored 180 points.
Behind the two Swiss athletes, Giovanni Franzoni (Italy/114) and Nils Allègre (France/113) finished third and fourth in this special ranking. The best South Tyrolean was Dominik Paris from Ultimo/Ulten, who left Val Gardena/Gröden with 106 points.
Several additional bonuses for Odermatt
As the winner of the Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy, Odermatt receives a faithful 3D wooden bust, extra prize money of €5,000, a short vacation in Val Gardena/Gröden, and the opportunity to climb the Sassolungo/Langkofel accompanied by an expert local mountain guide. The Swiss skier can redeem the latter prize even after his career has ended.
