Odermatt wins the Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy

21.12.2024

The Swiss Marco Odermatt has secured the Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy for the first time as the most successful athlete of the 57th Saslong Classic.

With third place in Friday's super-G and a victory in Saturday's downhill classic, Odermatt accumulated the most points in this year's race week in Val Gardena/Gröden. The Swiss racer collected a total of 160 points in the two races, leaving super-G winner Mattia Casse, who scored 118 points, behind.

Third place in this special ranking went to France's Nils Allegre, who scored 86 points with a seventh place in the super-G and a fourth place in the downhill. Fourth and fifth place went to Franjo von Allmen (Switzerland) and Jared Goldberg (USA), who both finished the race week with 80 points each.

Multiple reasons to be happy for Odermatt
As the winner of the Val Gardena Südtirol Ski Trophy, Odermatt can look forward to a true-to-life 3D wooden bust, an extra €5,000 in prize money, a short vacation in Val Gardena/Gröden, and a climb of the Sassolungo/Langkofel accompanied by a local mountain guide. The Swiss athlete can also redeem the latter prize after the end of his career.
