Pleased with first training run.
The FIS and the Val Gardena/Gröden OC are pleased with the first downhill training which took place today without complications - albeit on a shortened track from the Super-G start.
In general, FIS and the OC in Val Gardena/Gröden are satisfied with today's training. Tomorrow a complete run is highly likely, hopefully from start to finish. The fresh snow, which fell on Tuesday night, has already been cleared from the course making it race-ready.
The decision to lower the start of today's training was praised by coaches and organizers. "The upper part would simply not have been skiable today. We could not have guaranteed the same conditions for all racers” confirms Rainer Senoner.
The start of tomorrow’s training is set at 12:15 pm with Aleksander Aamodt Kilde being the first racer tackling the course followed by Travis Ganong in second and Dominik Paris in third. The fastest racer of today’s first training, Jared Goldberg, races with start number 21 in tomorrow’s second training.
