The second training run on the Saslong scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled due to persistent snow and rain showers. The cancellation is intended to protect the course in view of the three upcoming races.

The decision to cancel the second training run was made by the race jury on Wednesday morning in consultation with the Saslong Classic organizing committee. The combination of wet snow and rain made it inadvisable to put additional strain on the course, which is why the training was canceled with a view to the races.

Due to the weather conditions, Wednesday's training had originally been brought forward from 11:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in order to avoid an expected deterioration in the weather around midday. However, the renewed change in weather conditions meant that even the earlier start time was not possible.

This means that Val Gardena/Gröden will only have hosted one downhill training that was held on Tuesday. From Thursday to Saturday, three speed competitions are scheduled on the Saslong: the sprint downhill will kick things off on Thursday, followed by the traditional super-G on Friday and the classic downhill on Saturday.
