Second Downhill Training Run Moved to 10:30 am

The second training run for the prestigious downhill classic on the historic Saslong has been rescheduled from 11:45 am to 10:30 am due to anticipated weather conditions. This announcement was made by the organizers of the 56th Saslong Classic during the second team captains' meeting on Tuesday evening in Selva/Wolkenstein.

The decision to shift the training time is in response to the weather forecast for Wednesday. "The weather forecast is more favorable than we initially expected at the beginning of the week, but there is still a chance of snowfall later in the day. Therefore, we have opted to start the second downhill training session at 10:30 am," explained FIS Race Director Markus Waldner, who described the first training session as "successful."

President of the Saslong Classic Club, Rainer Senoner, concurred with Waldner: "From our perspective, it was indeed a successful training session. The FIS crew, coaches, and athletes worked seamlessly together - we hope to maintain this positive momentum."

Einar Witteveen, the FIS technical delegate in Val Gardena/Gröden, echoed this sentiment and commended the Val Gardena/Gröden OC team for their "excellent work and the well-prepared course." The slope underwent final adjustments after the first training session. "The second jump before the loop will appear different tomorrow, as will the one at the wall, where we have eliminated a small 'nose.' We've also made some adjustments to the finish jump," explained course setter Hannes Trinkl.
