"Simply fantastic!"

19.12.2018

These is what the athletes had to say after the last ladies’ race on the Saslong.

Ilka Stuhec (1st place)
"I feel great. After my victory yesterday I got even more self-confident, that's why I was very relaxed today. To be honest, I didn't expect to win again. I made a few mistakes at the beginning and thought that I would not finish the race. But I knew the line and knew what I had to do. So it turned out to be enough for a victory. The condition of the track was very good today. It was really nice to race the Saslong course."

Nicole Schmidhofer (2nd place)
"I reviewed Ilka Stuhec's race again yesterday and decided to do better today. It is not so easy to find the right pressure with such long skis and that was decisive in the top part. I'm happy about my placement. I knew that Tina was in good form and therefore I am proud to share silver with her.”

Tina Weirather (2nd place)
"It went very well, I skied very well. Today we all overestimated the race, the track wasn't very difficult. I was a bit annoyed at the finish because I only just missed the gold. I didn't expect to win, but it's only a small margin from the leading time. I invested a lot, but this time it didn't work out. I give it to Ilka from the bottom of my heart and I am happy about my placement.”

Ragnhild Mowinckel (place 5)
"Fifth place isn't very good, but I'm satisfied. It's a very nice race track. I'm more confident in the super-G, so it was a nicer race for me today. I would have liked the gates to have been set in a way that lets us ski faster. The visibility was particularly good".

Nicol Delago (20th place)
"It was a beautiful day. Even though it didn't go very well for me, I had fun. It was a great experience for me. Unfortunately I made a mistake at the beginning. That didn't give me the speed I needed. The World Cup race in Val Gardena/Gröden was unique for me. It was simply fantastic!.”
