The sprint downhill race on the Saslong started at 1 pm instead of 11:45 am as originally planned. The reason for the delay was persistent fog banks, which had affected parts of the course restricting visibility.

Following the warm temperatures and snow and rain showers of the past few days, the slope was prepared with salt and is in very good condition.
