Striedinger Supporters Win the Fan Event.
The fan parade before the downhill classic on Saturday has been integral to the Val Gardena/Gröden race week for many years. Once again, this year, ski fans from several nations created a great atmosphere during the parade.
At the fan parade, the fan clubs gathered in the village center in St. Cristina before the start of the race and made their way together toward the finish stadium on the Saslong. Battle cries, bells, flags, and traditional disguises are just as much a part of the day as the fun and socializing.
In recognition of the fans' commitment, the most creative groups are awarded prizes every year. This year, the Oti Striedinger fan club once again received this award. The Austrian supporters, who took part in the fan march as the "defending champions," arrived in Val Gardena/Gröden with around 160 people (!) and fired up the atmosphere with their loud chants. The fan club not only thrilled the spectators along the street but also impressed the jury and deservedly prevailed against around 15 other fan clubs.
As winners of the fan parade, the Striedinger fans can look forward to a summer trip to Val Gardena/Gröden, which includes free use of the lifts and a surprise at an alpine hut.
