Super-G on the Saslong is canceled

The Super-G in Val Gardena/Gröden had to be canceled due to adverse weather conditions caused by heavy fog and warm temperatures.
After the snowfall of the previous night could still be removed from the course in time, persistent fog banks and rising temperatures made it impossible to hold the super-G on Friday. "Unfortunately, the external conditions softened the course to such an extent that a regular race had to be ruled out. Also, given the downhill on Saturday, a cancellation was the only correct decision," said FIS Race Director Markus Waldner.
The super-G would have been the 100th World Cup race at the foot of Sassolungo/Langkofel. Now the 55th Saslong Classic will continue on Saturday with the downhill classic. The start of the downhill is at 11:45 am.
