The ladies on the Saslong: the training runs

On Monday, the downhill training took place in Val Gardena/Gröden at 10:00 am.
The racers were competing in good weather and on a perfectly prepared course. The forerunners of the training runs were local favorites Peter Fill and Verena Stuffer joined by the Norwegians Stian Saugestad and Adrian Serjersted.
In the first downhill training, the Austrian Ramona Siebenhofer was the fastest with a time of 1:26.32 minutes. Ilka Stuhec from Slovenia finished second with only 2/100 of a second behind. The local hero Nicol Delago took third place with 1:26.69 minutes.
The lighting changed during the second training run and the sun came out on the Ciaslat meadows. This changed the conditions on the Saslong track. Ester Ledecka from the Czech Republic took first place. She clocked a time of 1:24.43 minutes. Nicol Delago, the home racer from Val Gardena/Gröden, skied even faster than in the first training and finished second with 1:24.83 minutes. She left Austrian Nicole Schmidhofer in third place.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the last downhill training starts at 10:00 am.
