The Oti Striedinger fan club prevails at the fan parade
The popular fan parade could be held regularly again this year after it had been cancelled twice due to Corona. Many fan clubs did not miss the opportunity and turned the streets of St. Christina into a colorful madhouse.
The fan parade has been an integral part of the Val Gardena/Gröden race week for many years and is always scheduled preceding the start of the downhill classic. During the parade, the fan clubs march from the village center in St. Cristina towards the finish stadium of the Saslong creating an impressive atmosphere with their battle cries, bells, flags and original fan paraphernalia.
The fan parade is all about fun and socializing among the ski supporters. In order to honor the commitment of the fans, the most creative and expressive fans are awarded and rewarded every year. This year, the award went to the Oti Striedinger fan club. The supporters of the Austrian traveled to Val Gardena/Gröden with 80 people heating up the atmosphere with a newly rehearsed fan chant. With this, the fan club inspired not only the onlookers but also the jury and deservedly prevailed against around 15 other fan clubs.
As winners of the fan parade, the Striedinger fans can look forward to a summer excursion to Val Gardena/Groden, including free use of a lift and a surprise at an alpine hut.
